About Me

There's a wise saying: "if you don't blow your own horn, somebody will use it as a spittoon. So, here's what you need to know about me as a contractor:

I come up to speed quickly on new projects.

I get the job done. (On time, within budget and I work to make sure you're delighted with it.)

I'm easy to work with.

In addition, I am resourceful, creative and I have a sense of humor.  I bring to every project a deep sense of enthusiasm, commitment and  knowledge of a wide range of scientific, medical and business topics and a curiosity to learn more. I work to create a collaborative environment that successfully combines both visual and written project elements. I have probing yet diplomatic interview techniques and I am a persevering (how the heck did she find that?) researcher.  I am adept at sorting through large volumes of information to separate important concepts from irrelevant information.  I take impossible deadlines in stride.  I subscribe to Science News and regularly read a variety of science news sites and blogs to insure that I have current knowledge of a broad range scientific disciplines.

So, that’s the professional side of me. I am the mother of three grown children—two sons and a daughter—and three grandchildren.  Although I’ve traveled the world, I’m one of the fortunate people to be born where I was meant to be: in enchanted New Mexico. I live in the high desert mountains on a beautiful piece of land that my father bought in the 1950s. This land is graced with two ancient archeological sites and I granted the Archeological Conservancy a conservation easement to preserve them and keep this land safe from development in perpetuity. Revitalizing the damaged riparian environment on this land is an important part of my life's work. Besides a deep attachment to this land and all nature  I love art, music, film, science and technology.  I am an avid connoisseur of synchronicity and serendipity and seeker of mystery, wild magick and adventure. I also enjoy  photography (visit my photography site at http://www.startree.org), crafts, gardening, hiking, and collecting weird sticks.

I volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused or neglected children. I don't mention this as part of my self-promotion. I mention it because CASA is a worthy organization that needs more promotion (which equals more donations) and more volunteers. Visit the national CASA website for more information on how to advocate for abused children. http://www.casaforchildren.org/site/c.mtJSJ7MPIsE/b.5301295/k.BE9A/Home.htm
